Inventory for Subscription Products is based on the Available Quantity for new sales. It does not account for renewals, cancellations, or reactivations. By default, inventory is set to unlimited. The inventory is set for the number of new subscribers who can purchase a product. Every time a new subscriber purchases a subscription, the Available Quantity for that product will be decremented.
Each time new customers purchase a Subscription Product, the Available Quantity for that product is decremented accordingly.
It's important to note that prior to March 2020, Cratejoy based inventory on a Maximum Shipment configuration per product. This limited sales based on how many shipments were in each batch.
To set inventory for Subscription Products, follow these steps:
Step 1: In the Merchant Portal, go to Products and click on Subscription Products.
Step 2: Find the Subscription product you want to edit and click on the Subscription Product name.
Step 3: Scroll to the bottom of the page. In the Inventory section, the available inventory can be set. By default, it's set to unlimited but can be modified.
Limiting inventory quantity
The inventory is set for the number of new subscribers who can purchase a product. Every time a new subscriber purchases a subscription, the Available Quantity for that product will be decremented.
A Subscription Product will be sold out when Available Quantity reaches 0. When Available Quantity hits 0 for a product, store administrators will receive an email and the product will no longer be purchasable.
To set up unlimited inventory for a Subscription product so it never sells out, just leave the Available Quantity empty. Setting this field to be blank means you have unlimited shipments/do not want to ever sell out.
