This guide will walk you through on how to change the date a customer will renew on.

There are many cases where you, as the Merchant, will want to manually move a subscription's end date. Moving the end date will effectively control when that customer's subscription is charged again for a renewal.

You can locate the subscription you need to change by clicking the Subscriptions tab and then searching for the customer's name or email and then clicking into the subscription record you would like to change. Once you're on this page, follow the steps below to change the renewal date:

1. To get started, click on the "Action" button in the top right corner of the subscription you wish to edit, then click 'Change Renewal Date'

2. Choose an option for how you would like to move the subscription's end date

Option 1) Pull back to the next Immediate Renewal

The first option will move the subscription to the most immediate renewal available. This is useful if your new customer sign-ups are in your cutoff window and so their first shipment is being bumped out a month but you have extra inventory for this month so you want to squeeze them in to your current shipping batch.

This option is only available to you if you are currently within the cutoff window AND the renewal isn't already set to the next immediate renewal.

Option 2) Move Renewal out 1 or 7 Days

The second option will allow you to move the subscription's renewal date forward either 1 or 7 days. This option should always be available to you.

Option 3) Move Subscription out 1, 2 or 3 Months

This option will move the renewal out 1, 2 or 3 months. If your subscription term is 'Monthly' then this option will move the renewal out the corresponding number of months.

NOTE: If you have subscriptions currently on a Prepaid cycle this will NOT move the subscription out 1, 2 or 3 prepay cycles. For example, let's say your customer bought a 6-month prepay subscription on June 1st so their next renewal is December 1st. Opting to move it out 1 renewal means that it would renew January 1st, 2 renewals is February 1st, etc.. Instead of 1 Renewal meaning it would renew in June of next year, 2 renewals would be a whole year away!

Step 3) (Optional) Choose to move shipments

This screen only shows up in some cases, it will be automatically skipped in the following scenarios:

  • If you selected "Move Renewal to the next Immediate Renewal" on the previous screen then your shipments will also be moved automatically to the immediate shipping batch.
  • If there are currently no unshipped shipments to move. Shipments are typically generated with each renewal so it is likely that there are no shipments that need to be adjusted in this case.

If you select to move shipments on this screen then all unshipped shipments in future batches will be bumped out one month. In the event of a prepaid subscription there will potentially be 3, 6 or 12 shipments that are each moved by one month.

Step 4) Confirmation

This is your confirmation screen, please verify that everything looks as you expect.

Once you click "Confirm Change" the dialog should close and the page should show the new renewal date.
